Brandy Stark has produced her "Metal Myths" series since 1995. She utilizes contemporary metal media, such as brass, bronze, copper, aluminum, steel, and nickel wire, to bring classical characters to life in a modern world. Each work holds itself together; there is no glue or welding involved in this process. By manipulating the wire by hand and adding found objects to her works, all the pieces are unique and one of a kind.

Ms. Stark is a multi-award winning artist, receiving awards for her metal statues, creative writing, web site design, and photography. In 2001, she served as an artist-in-residence for Bay Pines VA Hospital. She is a member of the Arts Center, The Exhibiting Society of Artists (TESA), Women Artists Rising (WAR), and the Art Pros Group.

Ms. Stark graduated with her Masters in Religious Studies from the University of South Florida in August 2000. She presently teaches World Religions and Humanities at St. Petersburg College, Creative Writing and Metal Sculpting at Creative Clay Art Studio, and Art Appreciation at the International Academy of Design and Technology.

In addition, she works to promote local artists and the art community through her work as a freelance writer. Current publishing credits include the St. Petersburg Times, www.sterlingpowell.com, and Bayside News.

I watched downtown St. Petersburg come to life with the arts. I feel very fortunate to be involved with this artistic renaissance. In today's society, we all need a way to express ourselves and leave a mark on the world. Art is a fantastic medium to give the intangible form, make the unreal real.
