Jayme Terrigno
is 26 years old currently living in Reno Nevada.
She has been writing since she was 10 and has
had a chapter of poetry nationally published.
Jaymes writing stems from different moments,
some she captures from personal experiences, some
from complete strangers walking down the street.
I love to watch people, try and figure out
whats going on in their life
Then
write about it. It seems to be working for
her. With over 250 poems to her credit and many
in the works right now, Jayme is a plethora of
creativity.
Poetry isnt Jaymes only creative outlet;
She dabbles in photography and has completed a
few paintings to add to her list of artistic abilities.
I am currently learning to play guitar,
it's not that I want to be great at everything
I just feel that I can appreciate other people
and their creative abilities if I taste it first
hand. Jayme credits her creativity to the
people who surround her, friends, family and even
strangers. I also have to acknowledge Jewel,
she has been an inspiration in my life. I know
that it probably sounds a little cliché,
but she motivates me, helps me to see the creative
moments I hide within.
The hardest part for me right now is my
personal style of writing. I have been told that
I will never be offered a book deal because my
poetry doesnt rhyme enough
That is
apparently the standard. I dont like standards;
I think people create what is in their heart
And if poetry doesnt rhyme
Does that
mean it cant touch someone? If that is the
rule
I pride myself on trying to break it!
My style is free
Free from structure, perfect
punctuation and above all excessive rhyme
I dont own a rhyming dictionary
I
write what I feel exactly how I feel it. If it
is so frowned on by the poetic community
Explain to me how E.E Cummings is a poetic legacy!

"It truly
fills me when I think about how much love and
support I receive from the group of people [at
Nubzilla's Café]. It seems that no matter
what, we are always able to pull together and
prevail over situations. I have been known to
question myself and of course be my own worst
critic. You guys motivate me and help me to believe
in my talents! And I am not sure how to give that
back! All of the wonderful people here have, in
one way or another, at one time or another been
an inspiration to me. A piece of each of you hides
somewhere in the poetry I write. And you are forever
a part of me!!!"
