Gentry Bronson has been called many things: “Tori Amos with testicles”, “a young Tom Waits”, a “punk rock poet pianist”, and throughout his career, Gentry has proven himself as a pop craftsman, dazzling showman and captivating pianist often compared to Billy Joel, Nick Cave and David Gray.
Gentry began playing piano at age 7, won several MMTA awards for piano performance by the end of junior high school, started singing in his first punk band at age 15, and moved to the US West coast a week after his 18th birthday. He tried his hand at jazz, spoken word, and DJing, before returning to what he knew best: telling a story with music and laying everything on the line while on stage.
In 2000, he won three NCSA awards. Then, in 2001, Gentry put together a group of musicians and founded the Night Watchmen, a band that combined the late night worlds of rock, jazz, pop and cabaret.
Driven by the DIY ethic of the independent artist, Gentry has released seven records since 2001. His new album “No War”, a high energy, 3-part alternative rock record, was just released in October 2006, and 2 months earlier, he released “Santa Fe Sky”, an ambient instrumental record written and produced with Dave Hoover.
Gentry has played around the world and is not slowing down. In 2006, he’s played shows in the Netherlands, California, Washington, Montana, Minnesota, and New Mexico. His dramatic and soulful performances continue to receive rave reviews and build a fan base that seems to have no boundaries. He is now planning his 2007 tour.

"Nubzilla is one of the front runners in bringing underground music and art to the world. By putting new, talented artists out on their sites, they are allowing artists and audience to meet when they might not have otherwise. Without sites like this, I wouldn’t be able to support myself as an independent music artist. It seems that as major labels are producing less relevant music, sites like Nubzilla are putting out some of the most creative and explosive music out there. And the cool thing about Nubzilla is that they don’t limit themselves to music - putting out fabulous poetry and visual art along side the best underground music. If independent artists are the future, Nubzilla is part of the wave that is paving the way for indie music and art. Artists like me are lucky to have organizations like Nubzilla out there working for us."
