Alive Today
Words and Music by SHEILA KIRSTEN HUGHES
On and on, the river flows
On and on, the wind it blows
On and on, the sun will shine
Today it feels so good to be alive
Open up the doors, let the light leak in
There's music in the distance
Leaves dancing with the wind
Birds in conversation
Hidden by the old oak tree
And I just had to stop to say
God it feels so good to be alive today
Found a quarter on the sidewalk
Saw a smile upon your face
I know sometimes it's hard
To believe we'll find our place
But today I caught a glimpse of
All we are and all we'll be
Made it feel so good to be alive today
On and on, the rain will fall
On and on, what lives will grow
On and on, the season's change
But before you make that change let me say
It feels so good to be alive today
Watched the sunset burn the sky
In brilliant shades of red
The ocean swelled with green hues
before the night crept in
With a gentle kiss from my love
To tuck me in at night
Made it feel so good to be alive
On and on, the river flows
On and on, the wind it blows
On and on, the sun will shine
Today it feels so good to be alive
break...
On and on, the rain will fall
On and on, what lives will grow
On and on, the season's change
But before you make that change
Let me say
It feels so good to be alive today
On and on and on. . .
